Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFGiven:
The base of a triangular pyramid is an isosceles triangle of sides length are 5 cm, 5 cm and 6 cm
The height of pyramid is 10 cm
Calculation:
Let equal sides be a and unequal side be b
So, the area of isosceles triangle is \(= \frac{b}{4}\sqrt {4{a^2} - {b^2}} \)
So, the area of isosceles triangle is \(= \frac{6}{4}\sqrt {4 \times {5^2} - {6^2}}\)
⇒ 12 cm2
So, the volume of pyramid = 1/3 × 12 × 10
∴ 40 cm3Last updated on Jul 22, 2025
