Let the distance between two station be x km
Since, The first train that travels from M to N covers the distance x in 8 hour
⇒ The speed of first train is x/8 km/hour
Since, the second train that travels from N to M covers the distance x in 7 hour
⇒ The speed of second train is x/7 km/hour
Now, in 2 hour the distance travelled by first train is 2x/8
⇒ The remaining distance is 6x/8
Now, let they start at 8:00 AM and they will meet after T hours with each other
⇒ (x/8) × T + (x/7) × T = 6X/8
⇒ T/8 + T/7 = 3/4
⇒ T = 2 hours 48 minutes
∴ The time at which they will meet = 8 : 00 AM + 2 hour 48 minutes = 10 : 48 AM.
