Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFGiven:
4 women and 7 men earn a total of Rs. 11,480 in 7 days
10 women and 17 men earn a total of Rs. 36,360 in 9 days
Concept:
Total work = number of workers doing work × time taken to complete the work.
(4W + 7M) × 7 = 11,480
⇒ (4W + 7M) = 1640 ----(i)
(10W + 17M) × 9 = 36360
⇒ (10W + 17M) = 4040----(ii)
solving equations (i) and (ii)
⇒ 10W + 17.5M = 4100---- (iii)
⇒ 10W + 17M = 4040---- (iv)
by subtraction equations (iii) and (iv)
⇒ 0.5M = Rs. 60
Putting the value of G in equation (i)
⇒ 4W + 840= 1640
⇒ 4W = 800
⇒ W = Rs.200
According to the question:
Money earned by 11 women and 9 men in 13days
⇒ (11 × 200 + 9 × 120) × 13
⇒ (2200 + 1080) × 13
⇒ 3280 × 13 = 42640
∴ The required value is 42640.
