Fall-of-potential method

qImage658085d1be28277c0d8e956c

In the fall-of-potential method for measuring earth resistance, three electrodes are typically used. One is earth electrode and 2 are auxiliary electrodes.

1.) Current Electrode (C): This electrode is also known as the "energizing electrode" or "current injection electrode." A current is injected into the ground through this electrode.

2.) Potential Electrode (P): This electrode is also known as the "voltage measurement electrode" or "potential probe." It is placed at a certain distance from the current electrode to measure the voltage drop in the ground.

3.) Earth Electrode (E): The earth electrode is the grounding system or the electrode under test. It is the system for which you are measuring the resistance.
