Given:

Final selling price after both discounts = Rs. 7,290

Trade discount = 10%

Cash discount = 10%

Formula used:

Let the marked price be M.

Price after trade discount = M - (10% of M) = 0.9M

Final price after cash discount = 0.9M - (10% of 0.9M) = 0.9M × 0.9

Calculations:

0.9M × 0.9 = 7,290

⇒ 0.81M = 7,290

⇒ M = 7,290 ÷ 0.81

⇒ M = 9,000

∴ The marked price is Rs. 9,000.
