Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFGiven:
A girl goes from A to B with a speed 60 km/hr.
Return from B to A with a speed 30 km/hr.
Concept used:
Distance = Speed × Time
Formula used:
Average speed = 2xy/(x + y) { x and y are speed covering same distance}
Calculation:
As per the formula, the Average speed is,
⇒ 2 × 60 × 30 \ (60 + 30)
⇒ 3600 / 90
⇒ 40 km/h
So, Total distance covered
⇒ 40 × 5
⇒ 200 km
Required distance is 200 / 2 = 100 km
The distance between A and B is 100 km.
