Unveiling the Full Form of TGB

TGB is an acronym for the Telangana Grameena Bank. This rural bank in Telangana state has shown impressive results in the less developed districts, demonstrating growth in areas such as advances, deposits and profit, while maintaining low levels of NPAs (non-performing assets).

• TGB, originally known as Deccan Grameena Bank (DGB), was formed on 24th March 2006. It is the result of the amalgamation of four RRBs sponsored by the State Bank of Hyderabad, namely Sri Rama Grameena Bank, Sri Saraswathi Grameena Bank & Golconda Grameena Bank.
• With its headquarters in Hyderabad, DGB was established offering a range of services including competitive interest rates and superior credit facilities among others.
• DGB encompasses five districts in the state of Telangana, primarily focusing on the less developed regions such as Karimnagar, Adilabad, Rangareddy, Nizamabad & Hyderabad.
• The bank boasts an authorized capital of Rs. 5 crores.
• The paid-up capital amounts to Rs.4 crores, contributed in a ratio of 50 : 35: 15 by the Indian government, the Sponsor Bank that is the State Bank of Hyderabad and the Telangana Government respectively.
