CONCEPT:

Electrical resistance is defined as the force which counteracts the flow of the current and it is the ratio of the voltage applied to the current of the given material.

Here R is the resistance, V is the applied voltage and I is the current flows in the circuit.

The conductor is the material in which the valance band and conduction band overlap each other and semiconductors are that material in which the valance band and conduction band is having some gap but this gap is less than compared to the insulators.
