The Ramon Magsaysay Award, often referred to as Asia's Nobel Prize, continues to honor individuals and organizations demonstrating selfless service and transformative leadership across the continent. Since its inception in 1958, the award has recognized over 300 laureates from 22 Asian countries.

  • Each year, the Ramon Magsaysay Award Foundation board of trustees selects the Ramon Magsaysay Awardees, presenting them with a certificate and a medallion that features a prominent image of Ramon Magsaysay in a right-facing profile. 
  • The inception of the Ramon Magsaysay Award aimed to commend the exceptional spirit exhibited in serving Asia's people, irrespective of their race, gender, or faith. 
  • Between 1958 and 2008, the Award was presented across six distinct categories annually. However, since 2009, the Ramon Magsaysay Award has moved away from specific award categories, with the exception of Emergent Leadership.
