Formula

Average = total sum of all values/No. of values.

A % B = A/B × 100

Solution

Let the total number of students qualified in 2020 be 100x.

⇒ 12x = 90

⇒ x = 7.5

School Qualified student(2020) Total
B 14x 14 × 7.5 = 105
C 16x 16 × 7.5 = 120
D 10x 10 × 7.5 = 75

The average number of students qualifying from Schools B, C and D in 2020:

⇒ P = (105 + 120 + 75)/3 = 100

Let the total number of students qualified in 2021 be 100y.

⇒ 15y = 135

⇒ y = 9

School Qualified student(2021) Total
E 16y 16 × 9 = 144
F 13y 13 × 9 = 117
G 15y

15 × 9 = 135

The average number of students qualifying from Schools E, F and G in 2020:

⇒ Q = (144 + 117 + 135)/3 = 132

Hence, Q - P = 132 - 100 = 32
