TNPSC Group 1 Syllabus and Exam Pattern 2025: Overview
The TNPSC Group I Preliminary Examination 2025 will be held on 15 June 2025 to recruit 72 vacancies in Group I and Group I A . Prior to applying , candidates should familiarize themselves with the syllabus and exam pattern to organize their preparation accordingly. TNPSC Group 1 Exam Pattern 2025
The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) Group 1 Exam is conducted in three stages — Preliminary Exam, Mains Exam, and Interview. Candidates need to clear each stage to move forward in the selection process. The Preliminary exam is qualifying in nature, while marks from the Mains and Interview are counted for the final merit.
TNPSC Group 1 Prelims Exam Pattern 2025
The Preliminary Exam is an objective-type test containing 200 questions in total. Each question carries 1.5 marks, making it a 300-mark paper. There is no negative marking, and the exam serves as a screening round.

TNPSC Group 1 Mains Exam Pattern 2025
The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) Group 1 Exam consists of three stages Preliminary Exam, Mains Exam, and Interview. Candidates must pass all stages to be successful in their selection process. The Preliminary exam is qualifying, while the marks are counted towards the final merit list from Mains and Interview.

As per the latest updates, TNPSC Group 1 Preliminary Exam is going to be conducted on 15th June 2025 Candidates who clear this exam will be eligible to appear for mains. After passing the prelims exam, candidates will appear for the TNPSC Group 1 Mains Exam. It includes four papers. Each paper is descriptive and candidates will get 3 hours to write each one. These papers check your deep understanding of topics like history, society, science, geography, economy, and more. The first paper is a Tamil Language Test, which is compulsory.
