UPSC Prelims 2024 Question Paper PDF is now available to download for all the aspirants who will be appearing for the upcoming UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025. The UPSC Prelims 2024 was conducted on 16 June, 2024 in two parts – GS Paper 1 and the CSAT, each conducted for a total of 200 marks on the same day. Candidates who will be appearing for the upcoming Prelims exam on 25 May, 2025 should download the UPSC Prelims Question Paper 2024 for both GS 1 and CSAT to understand the question paper pattern, type of questions expected from the UPSC Syllabus, subject-wise weightage, and the expected difficulty level of the paper.
- The UPSC Prelims 2024 Question Paper will consist of two parts – General Studies Paper 1 or GS-1 and General Studies Paper 2 or the CSAT.
- Both GS Paper 1 and the UPSC CSAT will comprise objective-type Multiple Choice Questions carrying a total of 200 marks each. The UPSC Prelims will be conducted for a total of 400 marks.
- The CSAT is qualifying in nature. This means that the marks obtained in GS Paper 2 will NOT be considered in the selection of UPSC Mains. However, only those who obtain at least 33% in the CSAT will have their GS Paper 1 Answer Sheets evaluated.

UPSC Prelims 2024 Question Paper PDFs for CSAT
The CSAT is the second part of the UPSC Prelims 2024 Question Paper comprising 80 questions for 200 marks. The UPSC CSAT is qualifying in nature, meaning that the marks obtained in this GS Paper 2 will not be considered in the final selection for the Mains. However, only the candidates who qualify the CSAT will be eligible to have their answer sheets for the GS Paper 1 evaluated.
