Given:

First side (a) = 4 cm

Second side (b) = 5 cm

Third side (c) = 7 cm

Formula used:

Heron's formula

Area = √{S × (S - a) × (S - b) × (S - c)} 

Where, S = (a + b + c)/2

Calculation:

S = (4 + 5 + 7)/2 = 16/2 = 8

Area of triangle =  √{S × (S - a) × (S - b) × (S - c)} 

⇒ √{8 × (8 - 4) × (8 - 5) × (8 - 7)}

⇒ √{8 × 4 × 3 × 1}

⇒ √{16 × 6}

⇒ √96 = 4√6 cm2

∴ The correct answer is 4√6 cm2 .
