त्रिकोणमितीय फलन का उपयोग करके, sec θ और cot θ के मानों की गणना करने पर
गणना:
sin θ = (लम्ब)/(कर्ण)
∆ABC में;
(AC)2 = (AB)2 + (BC)2
⇒ (√5)2 = (2)2 + (BC)2
⇒ 5 = 4 + (BC)2
⇒ (BC)2 = 5 – 4
⇒ (BC)2 = 1
⇒ BC = 1
sec θ = (कर्ण)/आधार)
⇒ sec θ = √5/1 = √5
cot θ = (आधार)/(लम्ब)
⇒ cot θ = 1/2
(sec θ)2 + (cot θ)2 = (√5)2 + (1/2)2
= 5 + 1/4
⇒ 21/4
∴ sec2θ + cot2θ का मान 21/4 है।
