SSC CGL Typing Test

SSC CGL Typing Test is held for certain posts under SSC CGL Examination, like Tax Assistants in CBIC and CBDT. In this test, candidates have to type 35 words per minute (WPM) in English or 30 WPM in Hindi within a certain time limit. The test measures speed as well as accuracy. Candidates must practice consistently to maintain speed while ensuring minimal errors. Errors such as spelling mistakes, punctuation errors, and spacing issues can lead to deductions, so precision is as crucial as speed.

SSC CHSL Typing Test

SSC CHSL Typing Test is a significant test for typing skill by candidates vying for posts as Lower Division Clerk (LDC) and Postal Assistants/Sorting Assistants. Typing speed prerequisites remain the same for this test as for that of CGL typewriting, i.e., 35 WPM in English and 30 WPM for Hindi. Although the speed being the same since the test in CHSL is held for those who pass their 12th standard exams too, speed is an indispensable criterion in ultimate appointment. For CHSL aspirants, the frequency of mock tests improves typing skills and confidence. The test is conducted online, and hence aspirants need to practice under the same interface as the actual test.

SSC Selection Post Typing Test

The SSC Selection Post Typing Test is for some of the clerical and data entry positions under the SSC Selection Post recruitment. The speed requirement for typing may differ marginally depending upon the job profile. Some jobs may need Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) where the applicants are required to type a defined number of key depressions within a specified duration. Practice through mock tests aimed at SSC Selection Post exams will help candidates get used to typing within time limits without compromising on accuracy. Practice should be done as close to actual exam conditions as possible.
