JCECE Eligibility Criteria 2022: Get Course-wise Details Here!

The Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (JCECE), is a state-level entrance exam administered by Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) who set the JCECE Eligibility Criteria. Candidates who take the exam must meet the JCECE Eligibility Criteria in order to qualify for the benefits later. JCECE allows admission to first-year/professional courses such as B. Tech, B.V.Sc. & A.H, B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture, B.Sc. (Hons) Forestry, B.Tech Dairy Technology, B.F.Sc, B.Tech Agriculture Engineering, and B.Sc (Hons) Horticulture at various private and government colleges across the state.

• Candidates who do not meet the JCECE Eligibility Criteria will be disqualified, even if they pass the exam with the highest possible score.
• Only candidates who fit all the eligibility criteria (as detailed below) shall be granted their respective JCECE Admit Cards for the exam.
• Only candidates of Indian origin with domicile Jharkhand are eligible to take the exam.
• The PCMB group will have 200 questions on the JCECE Exam, while the PCM/PCB group will have 150 questions.

Age Limit Criteria

• Candidates seeking admission to the Agriculture and Forestry program must be 17 years old or older as of the first week of July of the examination year. The maximum age is 22 years.

• Candidates must be 17 years old as of July 1st of the year of the examination for the Animal Husbandry [B.V.Sc. & A.H.] Course.

Number of Attempts

There is no intimation on the number of attempts by the JCECE Board, so there is no limit on appearing for the exam. The candidates can stay tuned to the official website to learn more about it.

JCECE 2022 Nationality Eligibility Criteria

JCECE is only open to Jharkhand residents. At the time of JCECE Counselling, candidates must present a Residence Certificate. The following are the eligibility criteria based on residence.

• The candidate, or their parents or guardians, must have lived in Jharkhand for at least 15 years.
• One of the parents must be a government official for the Jharkhand government or the GOI who was transferred to Jharkhand for service.
• The candidate or their parents must own property or run a business that has been approved by the Jharkhand government.
• Candidates must have completed 7 years (or more) of schooling in a Jharkhand school.
• For admission to graduation programmes at a recognised university, candidates must have passed the subsequent examinations from any Jharkhand educational institution. The qualifying examination must be passed by the candidates.
• 12th/any equivalent qualifying examination and class 8 marks will be considered for admission to a university or intermediate board exam.
• In other cases, class 4 marks are used.
• A spouse's resident certificate is also taken into account.
• If the candidate's parent is a member of the armed forces but has not been called to serve in Jharkhand, the candidate is exempt from attending a Jharkhand institution.
• All-India Service officers' wives and children are also considered Jharkhand citizens.
• During JCECE 2022 counselling, candidates who are the children of retired Defence Servicemen will not be required to submit the Local Resident Certificate.
• Candidates will be considered Local Residents if their parent is a registered migrant in Jharkhand.
• This certificate is not required for Kashmiri migrants.

Foreign or NRI candidates are not eligible to appear for the JCECE exam. Only candidates with domicile Jharkhand can appear for the exam.

Eligibility for Admission to Participating University College of Engineering and Technology

University College of Engineering and Technology is a top institute wherein all Engineering students seek admission. Candidates should check the eligibility criteria of the college:

• Candidates must have passed the 10+2 exam with an aggregate of 45% marks or equivalent (40% marks for candidates belonging to the reserved category) from a recognized board to be eligible for B.E/B.Tech admission. 

• Only domiciles of Jharkhand can apply for JCECE. Candidates must produce a Residence Certificate at the time of JCECE Counselling

JCECE 2022 – Eligibility Criteria For Improvement Exam 

The JCECE exam has no improvement exam. If a candidate fails the JCECE exam, he can reapply for the next JCECE exam. The candidate must ensure that he is eligible for the exam according to the guidelines.

For JCECE 2022 counseling, candidates should always have certain documents on hand. The following documents are required for JCECE counseling in 2022:

• JCECE 2022 Admit card
• 10th or equivalent Mark sheet and Passing Certificate (Original/Provisional)
• 12th or Equivalent Mark sheet and Passing Certificate (Original/Provisional)

There are no special requirements for droppers; they can take the JCECE exam if they meet the eligibility requirements listed above.
