Solution:

A deer has 4 legs and a peacock has 2 legs. Let x be the number of deer and y be the numbers of peacocks in the zoo.

Then,

4x + 2y = 200

∴ 2x + y = 100 …1

And

x + y = 80

∴ y = 80 – x

Substituting y in eq. 1,

2x + 80 – x = 100

∴ x = 20

Thus,

y = 60

So, the number of deer is 20 and number of peacocks is 60.
