The selling price of an article = 21/20 times of listed price

Formula used:

Rate of sales tax = sales tax/Listed price × 100

Calculation:

Let the Listed price be 100

Selling price = 21/20 × 100

= 105

Sales tax = Selling price - Listed price

= 105 -100

= 5

The Rate of sales tax = 5/100 × 100

= 5%

∴ The rate of sales tax is 5%.
