കണക്കുകൂട്ടല്‍:
4x = അച്ഛന്റെ ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ വയസ്സ്, x = മകന്റെ ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ വയസ്സ്
5 വർഷം മുമ്പ് അച്ഛന്റെ വയസ്സ് മകന്റെ വയസ്സിന്റെ 5 മടങ്ങായിരുന്നു.
∴ 4x -5 = 5(x - 5)
⇒ 4x - 5 = 5x - 25
⇒ x = 20
∴ അച്ഛന്റെ ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ പ്രായം = 4 (20) = 80 വയസ്സ്.
