Abdus Samad	Abd –al- Samad or Khwaja Abdus Samad was a Mughal miniature painter, of the 17th century. The Mughals rulers greatly encouraged painting of miniatures which acquired a specific style and sophistication in the period of Emperor Jahangir. Samad held important positions in the Mughal court was the head of the imperial workshop under Akbar. He even held administrative positions during Akbar’s period, for instance in charge of the mint at Fatehpur and Dewan of Multan for his contributions to the field of art and administration he was given the title of Shireen Qalam ( Sweet pen) and was given a mansab rank of 400.
Abul Hasan	Abul Hasan was a painter of the Mughal miniature style, in the court of Jahangir. His painting style was more indigenous, meaning that it had lesser Persian influences and more Indian characteristics. He is known to have painted a large number of scenes from everyday life and a lot of his work survives. He is also known by his title Nadir-uz- zaman meaning “wonder of the age”
Muhammad Husain of Kashmir	Muhammad Husain was a calligraphist at the time of Mughal Emperor Akbar; he was awarded the title *Zarrin Qalam* (Gold Pen) for his excellent skills at calligraphy in the Nastaliq script.
Ustad Mansur	Ustad Mansur was a painter, who specialized in painting Mughal miniatures in the court of Mughal Emperor Jahangir. He specialized in painting flora and fauna in great details and accuracy and some of his works are so exceptional that they have used for the study of birds and plant species. His expertise and skills earned him the title of nadir al-asr meaning “unparalleled of the age”.
