CONCEPT

  • Ohm’s law: If the physical circumstances of the conductor (length, temperature, mechanical strain etc.) remain constant, then the potential across the conductor is directly proportional to the current flowing through it i.e. V ∝ i
  • V = R i  [ R = proportionality constant = resistance of substance, V = potential difference across it, i = current flowing through it.]
  • Current always flows through the resistance having minimum value.
