The average of three consecutive even numbers = 262

Formula used:

Average = Sum of all the term / Number of terms

Calculation:

Let the three consecutive even number be x, x + 2 and x + 4

Sum of all the terms = 3x + 6

Number of terms = 3

Average = Sum of all the term / Number of terms

⇒ 262 = (3x + 6) / 3

⇒ 786 = 3x + 6

⇒ 780 = 3x

⇒ x = 260

The largest number = x + 4 = 264
