City A: 2004 = 50, 2005 = 85, 2006 = 100, 2007 = 90, 2008 = 120 (lakhs)

City B: 2004 = 60, 2005 = 70, 2006 = 100, 2007 = 80, 2008 = 110 (lakhs)

Formula used:

Percentage change = ((New – Old)/Old)×100

Calculations:

⇒ City A, 2005 vs 2004: ((85 – 50)/50) × 100 = 35/50 × 100 = 0.7 × 100 = 70%

⇒ City A, 2006 vs 2005: ((100 – 85)/85) × 100 = 15/85 × 100 ≈ 17.65%

⇒ City A, 2007 vs 2006: ((90 – 100)/100) × 100 = –10/100 × 100 = –10%

⇒ City A, 2008 vs 2007: ((120 – 90)/90) × 100 = 30/90 × 100 = 33.33%

⇒ City B, 2005 vs 2004: ((70 – 60)/60) × 100 = 10/60 × 100 ≈ 16.67%

⇒ City B, 2006 vs 2005: ((100 – 70)/70) × 100 = 30/70 × 100 ≈ 42.86%

⇒ City B, 2007 vs 2006: ((80 – 100)/100) × 100 = –20/100 × 100 = –20%
