⇒ Money spent by 11 friends = 11 × 18 = Rs. 198
⇒ Average expenditure of 12 friends = (198 + 12th friend's expenditure)/12
Let the 12th friend expenditure be Rs x.
⇒ 12th friend's expenditure = average expenditure of all 12 friends - 11
⇒ x = (198 + x)/12 - 11
⇒ x + 11 = (198 + x)/12
⇒ 12x + 132 = 198 + x
⇒ 11x = 66
⇒ x = Rs. 6
