How to Calculate Marks for WBPSC Clerkship Exam?

Candidates have to use the official answer key released by the West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) for evaluating their marks. The answer key will be released only for the Part I exam as it is of the objective type. Part II exam is a conventional type and hence no answer key will be released for the same. Step 2: For every right answer in the Part I Exam, you will be awarded 1 mark. There will be no negative marking for any wrong answer marked.

There is no provision given by WBPSC to challenge the actual result of the exam. However, the commission does provide candidates with the facility to challenge the tentative answer key. So, if any candidate wants to challenge the answer key, they must send their objection within 7 days of its release.

Computer Ability and Typing Test Result 

The WBPSC Selection process comprises three stages and the last and qualifying stage is the Computer Ability and Typing Test whereby the candidates are tested on their knowledge of basic computer education. The candidates have to possess the ability to type 20wpm in English and 10 wpm in Bengali. 

Candidates who have appeared for the WBPSC Clerkship Computer Ability and Typing Test are shortlisted in order of merit and subject to the availability of vacancies. Mere enlistment would not guarantee selection.

WBPSC Clerkship Result Tie-Breaker Rule 

There may be situations where more than one candidate has secured the same aggregate marks. In such cases, the candidates will be shortlisted based on the following tie-breaking rule:

The order of precedence for tie break is -

(i) Higher marks in Part II

 (ii) Higher marks in English in Part II, and 

(iii) Higher age.

WBPSC Clerkship Merit List

The WBPSC releases the merit lists online on the official website. The WBPSC Clerkship merit list contains the roll number of all the candidates selected for the next phase of the examination i.e. Mains Examination. The list may be updated subsequently, and candidates who have qualified will be announced. One must remember that the commission keeps updating the list after every round of the recruitment process and the final decision of selection lies in the hand of the commission.

The final list is published by the WBPSC that contains the list of all the selected candidates who have made it through all the stages of the selection process and are eligible to join the commission. The final candidates will be given the appointment letter mentioning their position and place of work. One must remember that all the appointments shall be initially made on a temporary basis.
