Given:

X alone can finish a work = 18 days

Y alone can finish a work = 9 days

(X + Y + Z) together can finish the work = 4 days

Formula used:

Total work = efficiency × time

Calculation:

Efficiency Person Time Total work
2 X 18 36
4 Y 9
9 X + Y + Z 4

Now,

⇒ X + Y + Z = 9 units

⇒ 2 + 4 + Z = 9

⇒ 6 + Z = 9

⇒ Z = 3 units

Z alone can finish the work = 36/3 = 12 days

∴ The correct answer is 12 days.
