The correct option is 4

Concept:

  • Power factor meter consists of a fixed coil which acts as the current coil
  • This coil split up into two parts and carries the current of the circuit under test
  • Therefore, the magnetic field produced by this coil is proportional to the main current
  • Two identical pressure coils A and B are pivoted on a spindle as shown constitute the moving system
  • Pressure coil A is non-inductive resistance R connected in series with it, and coil B has a highly inductive choke coil L connected in series with it
  • These two coils are connected across the voltage of the circuit
  • These two pressure coils have the same dimensions and the same number of turns
  • There is no requirement of the controlling system because at equilibrium there exist two opposite forces which balance the movement of the pointer without any requirement of controlling force
  • As there is no need for controlling torque, it doesn't have any control springs
