Linear phase

FIR filters can satisfy a linear phase response if the impulse response is symmetric or anti-symmetric.

  • For symmetric impulse response phase will be θ(ω) = - α ω

  • For anti-symmetric impulse response will be θ(ω) = - α × ω + β
