Four people were killed and fourteen others were injured in a drive-by shooting in Chicago, US. The incident reportedly took place in Chicago’s River North area.
Shooting occurred outside a restaurant
According to the Associated Press (AP), the shooting occurred outside a restaurant that had hosted a rapper’s album release party. The police said an anonymous person opened fire and drove away from the crime scene.
A spokesperson for Northwestern Medicine said the emergency department were attending the injured admitted to hospital.
Two dead at Stroger Hospital
Police detailed that among the deceased were two men, one a 24-year-old who was shot in the chest and another a 25-year-old who was shot in the head, both of whom died at Stroger Hospital. As reported by CBS News.
An 18-year-old woman and a 17-year-old girl, both shot in the chest, were pronounced dead at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
The victims who sustained injuries range from 21 to 32 years old, and two were taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital, two to Mt Sinai, three to Stroger, and six to Northwestern Memorial for treatment. Authorities said four of the injured are in serious to critical condition, CBS News reported.
Rapper Mello Buckzz, in a social media statement, expressed heartbreak and called for prayers.
Three killed in shooting at WestFest carnival
On June 15, Three people, including an eight-month-old infant, were killed, and two others injured in a shooting incident at WestFest carnival at Centennial Park in Utah. According to the West Valley City Police Department, the shooting happened during WestFest at Centennial Park.
In a post on X, the West Valley City Police Department stated, “SHOOTING: There has been a shooting at WestFest, which was underway at Centennial Park. Several people are hurt. PIO is en route. Media: standby for staging.”
The 41-year-old female and 8-month-old who died were bystanders and not connected to the groups involved in the altercation. Two teens, a 17-year-old female and a 15-year-old male, were both hit in the arm. It is not clear if they were connected to the groups involved.

The deceased included a 41-year-old woman, an 18-year-old man, and an 8-month-old baby, according to the West Valley City Police Department. The police said two teenagers – a 17-year-old female and a 15-year-old male-were both hit in the arm.
Two groups got involved into altercation
According to the police, officers working at the WestFest carnival at 9:20 pm (local time) on Sunday spotted two groups of people having a verbal altercation. As the police tried to break up the altercation, a 16-year-old male from one of the groups pulled out a gun and fired.
