Operation Kaveri: The 10th batch of 135 Indian nationals arrived in Jeddah on Friday morning on an IAF C-130J jet, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). Explain that the Government of India has launched Operation Kaveri to evacuate Indians besieged in conflict-torn Sudan.

Official figures show that India has evacuated roughly 2000 persons from the war zone. Arindam Bagchi, the spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs, tweeted, “IAF C-130J flight with 135 passengers departs Port Sudan for Jeddah.”

Earlier, V Muraleedharan, Minister of State for External Affairs, reported that the eighth group of Indian people had been successfully evacuated from Sudan and transported to  Jeddah airport. There were 121 people in the batch, including family members of Indian Embassy staff.

Muraleedharan, Minister of State for External Affairs, announced that the 8th batch of 121 Indians had been airlifted from Wadi Sidna, Sudan, to Jeddah. Because Wadi Sidna surrounds Khartoum, the evacuation was made more difficult. This group also included family members of our Embassy staff.

According to the Indian Embassy in Khartoum’s website, there were approximately 2,800 Indian nationals in Sudan. Along with this, there was a permanent Indian community of approximately 1,200 individuals that had been in the nation for approximately 150 years. The armed forces are working around the clock to evacuate all Indian people from the war zone. Sudanese armed forces stated on Friday that a truce in the war zone will be extended for another 72 hours.
