During his address to Congress on Tuesday, US President Donald Trump made a heartwarming announcement that changed the life of a young boy forever. Devarjaye “DJ” Daniel, the 13-year-old boy who has been battling a rare form of cancer for many years, was appointed as a US Secret Service agent. The appointment made him the youngest person ever to hold this title.
Trump called on Secret Service Director Sean Curran to grant the credentials to DJ. “This young man is ECSTATIC to be here,” he remarked. The boy had always dreamed of becoming a police officer. As DJ received the recognition amid loud cheers and clapping, he hugged Curran, visibly overwhelmed.

In a deeply moving moment, Trump announced, “In 2018, DJ was diagnosed with brain cancer. The doctors gave him five months at most to live. That was more than 6 years ago. Since that time, DJ and his dad have been on the quest of making his dream come true.” He further added, “I am asking our new Secret Service officer, Sean Curran, to make you an agent of the United States Secret Service.”
Over a dozen Democrats joined Republicans in applauding the young hero’s resilience. DJ’s father was spotted lifting him as everyone present in the room chanted his name. After this, Trump carried on with the topic related to health policy while the Democrats stayed silent.
