The probability of an all around US governmental shut down has increased when new president elect Donald Trump called on all the Republican lower house members to reject a bipartisan funding bill. The former USA president urged the house to scrap the current bill and pass a new streamlined one. Trump’s intervention on the concerned issue was criticised by billionaire Elon Musk, congressman Steve Scalise, who is the leader of the House from the Republican party. These developments indicated that the bipartisan funding bill is dead after Trump had criticised it.

What Is Bipartisan Funding Bill?
House speaker Mike Johnson presented a spending bill on Tuesday evening which would push a government shut down if it is passed in both House and Senate, just before the governmental funds run out on Saturday. The bipartisan funding bill will allocate some funding until March 2025 which will bring a spending challenge for the Trump 2.0 administration and the republicans, who will be both leading Senate and House until January will certainly have slim margins in both the houses.

The bill contains around USD 100 billion fund for disaster management and USD 10 billion for the bank related benefits to the farmers. This will also provide an extension to the farm bill for one year and allow more senior citizens to use telehealth reforms and pharmacy benefits.
Will US Undergo Complete Governmental Shutdown?
It is expected that US will undergo a complete government shutdown after the bipartisan bill is rejected in both the houses. However, under this social security department will continue to function whereas medical department is also expected to provide services to its users. The food benefits through beneficial programs are also expected to continue, though, the people willing to go for holiday under this period may experience a delay as there might be difficulty in allocation of passports and other documents.
