“In view of the prevailing security situation and local safety advisories, all Indians nationals in Israel, especially those working in or visiting border areas in the north and south, are advised to relocate to safe areas within Israel. The Embassy remains in touch with the Israeli authorities to ensure the safety of all our nationals,” stated the Indian Embassy in a post on the microblogging site X.

The embassy’s post also included contact information for assistance and clarification, comprising a helpline number and an email address. The contact number is +972-35226748, and the email address is [email protected]. Furthermore, the embassy included the hotline number for the Population and Immigration Authority of Israel in its communication, which is 1700707889.

The advisory from the Indian embassy followed a day after an Indian citizen lost their life, and two others sustained injuries when an anti-tank missile launched from Lebanon hit an orchard close to Israel’s northern border community of Margaliot. The three individuals were all originally from the southern Indian state of Kerala.

Bush Joseph George and Paul Melvin were recognized as the two Indian citizens who sustained injuries.

According to health authorities in Gaza, more than 30,000 people have been confirmed dead in the aftermath of the Israeli offensive in Hamas-controlled Gaza. This offensive came in response to a series of rocket attacks launched by the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas in southern Israel on October 7, 2023, resulting in over 1,200 casualties and the capture of 240 hostages.
