On being asked about the evacuation, Trump stated, “They (US military personnel) are being moved out (of some countries of the Middle East). It could be a dangerous place…We will see what happens… They have been given notice to move out.” The President’s latest remarks come after talks between the US and Iran remain deadlocked. Trump reportedly referred to Iran and said, “They can’t have a nuclear weapon. Very simple. They can’t have it. We will not allow that.”

Describing the region as potentially volatile, the United States has decided to pull off the presence of people who are not considered essential in the Middle East operations. ANI quoted a State Department telling The Times of Israel, “President Trump is committed to keeping Americans safe, both at home and abroad. In keeping with that commitment, we are constantly assessing the appropriate personnel posture at all our embassies. Based on our latest analysis, we decided to reduce the footprint of our Mission in Iraq.”

According to reports, the United States also authorised the departure of nonessential military personnel and family members from Middle East countries such as Bahrain and Kuwait.
