Security has been heightened for the inauguration ceremony. During the poll campaign, Trump faced two assassination attempts. Given these circumstances, the American National Guard has established multiple layers of security.
According to the Euro News report, the American National Guard will deploy 8000 service members from 40 states during the inauguration ceremony. American National Guard Connecticut, Virginia and Pennsylvania already made a security layer around the National Gallery of Art on Saturday.
According to a report by HT, a private agency is also involved in the inauguration ceremony, with its expenses covered by the United States government. The report cites that TMZ obtained federal procurement documents, which revealed that the Secret Service has enlisted the private company Arcus LLC to assist with the ceremony, where numerous dignitaries from both the U.S. and other nations are expected to attend.
Another report from Euro News stated that several women and activists staged a protest on Saturday ahead of Trump’s inauguration. A similar protest was held in 2017 when Trump assumed office for his first term. The scale of the protest is smaller than the previous one, as many growth-oriented voters are feeling disillusioned and fatigued following Kamala Harris’ defeat.
