Manager who prohibited Holi festivities in the workplace while also denying holiday requests for Holi faced massive backlash on Reddit. The employer not only refused to grant employees time off for Holi but also ordered them to remove their colors before entering the workplace.
An employee shared a screenshot of the manager’s message on the “Indian Workplace” subreddit, sparking discussions about toxic work environments across India.
The worker criticized the company for refusing to grant leave for Holi, despite the festival being celebrated nationwide. The employer issued two directives: denying workers time off and banning all office celebrations during the festivities. Additionally, the manager outlined three conditions for employees, along with warnings about inappropriate actions.
The post shared by an anonymous user, read “We will not bring colors on the floor tomorrow!”
