Indian Industrialist Anand Mahindra who recently visited Venice, Italy had experienced a traffic jam which he compared with the Mumbai traffic. However, this wasn’t a typical traffic scene with cars and motorcycles, it was a Venetian-style jam with boats and Gondolas trying to navigate the city’s narrow canals.
Mahindra’s Viral Social Media Post
On X, Mahindra shared a video where the canal is full of boats with no inch space available. Accompanying the video he wrote a caption that was “Traveled to Venice only to run into a Mumbai-style traffic jam! OK, I admit this traffic pile-up is less stressful” There is a mesmerising beauty in the background, with the Renaissance architecture of Venice and its unique waterways.
Engagement with Mahindra’s funny take on the traffic of Venice was quite quick, gaining over 54.7K views, with 1K likes and 70 comments. People kept sharing their views about the charming canal traffic of Venice and the chaotic roads of Indian cities.
Social Media Reactions
There was water galore, but users in ample numbers flooded the comment section with humor. One commented, “Want to see water-logged roads? No need to go to Venice; just go to Delhi during monsoons” Another remarked, “Amuse by how jams can happen even in the most beautiful city like Venice.”. As one user joked, referring to the congestion around Venice: “At least there’s no honking, and the view is much better.”
Venice: Beautiful City and Traffic End
Venice has been a world-famous city in terms of Renaissance architecture and beautiful works of canals and bridges. The city is built over 126 islands and is linked with 472 bridges. It also remains a very popular tourist destination. While boat traffic may pass through the canals and look very charming, Mahindra’s post has shown that even Venice is not out of congestion.
He compares the boat traffic in Venice to road jams in Mumbai and, through social media, brought them smiles while making them realize the issue was not so particular to his region. His post was able to go viral, blending humor with admiration for the beauty of Venice in such a memorable way for his followers.
