In a recent unexpected news update, loads of Instagram users have taken to X to voice their concerns regarding the sudden emergence of NSFW and gore content on their feed. Users who have specifically enabled the new Sensitive Control Enabled options are also reporting similar issues.

X Formerly known as Twitter is filled to the brim with tweets that have been reporting the sudden emergence of such content over their feed. A recent tweet read -Is Anyone Else’s feed is full of violent reels ? Beyond that a user wrote that the has found at least 12 Instagram reels of a bloody fights and violent videos with visible bloodshed. Beyond that a bodycam footage of a child predator being shot at fatally has also been doing rounds over the platform.
Is it just me, or has Instagram reels turned into a war zone? Nothing but fights, gore, and pure chaos on the feed

What Could Be The Reason Behind
Meta has not issued any official statement regarding the whole debacle, there have been reports that claim that the possible reason behind the issue could be a bug in Instagram’s content moderation system. As per a report from vocal media says that Ai scans posts and sensitive content and limits its visibility by users. If this system malfunctions Instagram can end up with heaps of violent content being visible on users feed. Similar has been the scenario till now.
Another possible explanation is a change in Instagram’s algorithm. A latest update or shift might have prioritized certain posts, leading to the surge in such content, according to Vocal Media.
