Two times in two matches, Prasidh Krishna has made a very unwanted record, after leaking 23 runs to Jamie Smith, during the second Test at Edgbaston on July 4 (Friday). Having begun on a positive note, allowing only 20 runs from his first five overs, the Karnataka pacer went on to relinquish the initiative to England. According to social media posts, he has now registered himself for one of the most humiliating records in cricketing history. He has now become the bowler with the worst economy in Test cricket (Minimum 500 Balls). His economy went up to 5.26 runs per over.

During the 32nd over of the innings, the 29-year-old ended up giving away joint-fourth most runs in an over in Tests by an Indian bowler. Jamie Smith began the over with a dot, but proceeded to just about spoil Prasidh’s figures, slapping one for a boundary in the deep square area.
Right after that, Smith welcomed Prasidh like a club bowler, with a huge six across the square leg area. He didn’t look back there either, with two successive fours later, one between the mid-on area and mid-wicket area. Carnage didn’t end there for Prasidh, with a four and a six, as the Indian pacer gave away 23 runs in the over, the fourth most expensive over for India in Tests.
