When the Indian team scored 471 runs, they looked far ahead in the Headingley Test match. After the rain stopped, England came out to bat and lost Zak Crawley’s wicket in the very first over. At that moment, it seemed India was fully in command. However, when Ravindra Jadeja, known for his fielding skills, dropped an easy catch off Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling, the momentum began to shift toward England. Bumrah would surely be frustrated with Ben Duckett’s innings after that.

Ravindra Jadeja’s Big Mistake
After losing an early wicket, England looked in trouble on the pitch. Bumrah was bowling well and created multiple chances that looked like possible wickets. One such big opportunity came when England was on 39 runs. Duckett, batting on 15, tried to play a cut shot through point, and the ball went straight to Jadeja. Surprisingly, Jadeja dropped the simple catch. That missed chance gave England the chance to build a partnership, and they used it well to get back into the game.
Team India’s Fielding Woes
It’s not just Jadeja — India’s overall fielding has been poor in this match. Both Jasprit Bumrah and captain Shubman Gill also made misfields, which affected the confidence of the bowlers. At the time of writing, England had scored 97 runs for the loss of just 1 wicket. Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope are both well-set and scoring runs comfortably. Team India now needs to break this partnership quickly to get back into the match.
