Ashutosh Sharma made a superlative batting performance for Delhi Capitals against Lucknow Super Giants in IPL. He scored another match-winning innings as he did last year for Punjab Kings that led the team to victory and then he did the same against Lucknow this season. Ashutosh batted without getting out to score 66 runs off his first 31 deliveries hitting 10 boundaries between four and six while delivering Lucknow their first loss.

Turnaround Knock Under Pressure
The situation for Delhi turned dire at 65/5 when the team took up their chase against the target. His new role as Impact Player allowed Ashutosh to transform the match for Delhi Capitals because he used his tremendous power hitting to overcome Lucknow’s questionable bowling attacks by himself. During the seventh wicket partnership Ashutosh Along with Vipraj Nigam formed a vital alliance producing 55 runs. Ashutosh refused to give in as the rest of his teammates fell during their innings instead he finished the win with a powerful six.
Played for Punjab Kings Last Season
During the previous season Ashutosh represented Punjab Kings before moving to Delhi Capitals where he accomplished another impact win against Gujarat Titans. During that match he appeared as an Impact Player and together with Shashank Singh led Punjab to victory. Punjab Kings chose not to re-sign Ashutosh Singhi in the new season which led Delhi Capitals to make a strategic acquisition of him.
Overcoming Career Struggles
Ashutosh was born on September 15, 1998 in Ratlam which is in Madhya Pradesh where he developed his love for cricket throughout his childhood years. Ashutosh shows deep admiration toward Naman Ojha as his favorite cricketer because Ojha hails from his home state of Madhya Pradesh. Following his Ratlam birthplace he moved to Indore for his education before making his first appearance for Madhya Pradesh in domestic competition. When Chandrakant Pandit took charge as the team coach in 2020 Ashutosh received a team cut.

The testing period of his career received support only from his childhood mentor Bhupen Chauhan who continued his dedication to coaching Ashutosh. Following the death of his coach in 2023 Ashutosh switched his cricket association to Railways.
