Rishabh Pant was seen frustrated at the umpire during Day 3 of the first Test match at Leeds against England. It was discovered that Pant went to the umpire to show him the condition of the ball. It was then decided by the umpire that the time for the new ball had not come yet. Being the vice captain for the side, Pant took the ball, but after the denial of the new ball availability by the on-ground umpire, Paul Reiffel, Pant threw the ball on the ground in frustration, and the incident was caught on camera. The crowd at Leeds also booed Pant for his aggression with the umpire.
Pant got angry and threw the ball towards the umpire when the umpire refused to change it.😭😭

New Ball Rule
In Test cricket, the new ball rule is very important for bowlers, especially fast bowlers in SENA countries. After every 80 overs, the fielding team gets a chance to take a new ball. The captain can choose to take it immediately or wait for the right moment. A new ball is hard and shiny, so it helps fast bowlers to get more bounce and swing. India had bowled just over 60 overs when Pant went to show the ball to on-field umpire Paul Reiffel, who eventually denied his request.
Pant’s Prowess As A Wicket-Keeper Batter
Rishabh Pant smashed a stunning Test century at Leeds on day 2 of the first Test. This was Pant’s 7th Test century and 4th against England, which shows his prowess to perform against the tier 1 cricketing nations. Pant has outshone former India captain MS Dhoni in the highest Test centuries for an Indian wicket-keeper batter. On day 3, Pant also stepped into the elite club of 150 Test catches as a wicketkeeper batter after MS Dhoni and Syed Kirmani.
