Shoaib Akhtar In Trouble! Will His Statement Backfire Him For 100 Crore?

Shoaib Akhtar faces a Rs 100 crore legal notice from Dr. Nauman Niaz for a controversial statement made on a TV show.

Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar is known for his bold statements, but this time his words may have landed him in serious trouble. A remark he made on television could prove costly, as Pakistani celebrity and sports anchor Dr. Nauman Niaz has issued him a legal notice worth approximately Rs 100 crore, accusing him of defamation.

Did Shoaib Akhtar Insult Dr. Nauman in the Interview?

Dr. Nauman has responded strongly, stating that the comment is factually incorrect and appears to be a deliberate attempt to damage his professional reputation.

What Does the Legal Notice Say?

In the legal notice issued on May 29, Dr. Nauman has demanded that Shoaib Akhtar issue an unconditional public apology and withdraw his statement within 14 days. Failure to do so will result in legal action.

Dr. Nauman also claims that Shoaib has made similar disparaging remarks about him over the past three years. As of now, Shoaib Akhtar has not publicly responded to the legal notice or the controversy.

A History of Clashes

This isn’t the first time the two have clashed publicly. Back in October 2021, during a live television show, Dr. Nauman told Shoaib to leave the show, calling him “over smart.” In response, Shoaib Akhtar walked off the set live on air. The incident led to PTV demanding Rs 10 crore in damages from Akhtar.
