Saudi Arabia Submits Record Bid To Host FIFA World Cup 2034

Saudi Arabia has submitted a record bid to host the FIFA World Cup 2034. Saudi Arabia will be solely hosting the tournament and the official confirmation will be made by FIFA on December 11.

Saudi Arabia are cleared to host the FIFA World Cup 2034. Saudi Arabia submitted a record bid and will be solely hosting the tournament. Saudi Arabian Football Federation recorded a record breaking bidding rating of 419.8 out of 500 after beating a joint bid from USA, Mexico and Canada. FIFA is expected to official announce Saudi Arabia as the host of FIFA World Cup 2034 on December 11. FIFA shared the evaluation report on their official website in which Saudi Arabia’s was rated as the highest bidder to host the tournament, however, they are yet to build eight more stadiums. Saudi Arabia will become the second middle-east nation to host the biggest football international tournament after Qatar.

Saudi Arabia Wins Bid To Host 2034 FIFA World Cup

Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, Minister of Sport and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee said in a statement, “I extend my deepest gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince for their support and empowerment, which played a pivotal role in achieving this outstanding result. Saudi Arabia is a footballing nation with a young population that truly love the game. Young people are looking for a bright future. This score by FIFA simply reflects our commitment to grow the game, our rapid transformation and our desire to host the best possible tournament for the entire world to enjoy.”

“It is the result of our extensive efforts to present an exceptional bid and a testament to the collaboration between multiple entities across the Kingdom, driven by Vision 2030, which has enabled all sectors to unite behind a bid that represents the aspirations of the Kingdom’s leadership and the ambitions of the Saudi people“, he added.

As per a list by July 31, 2024, the FIFA World Cup 2034 will be held in five cities across Saudi Arabia including Riyadh, Jeddah, Al Khobar, Abha and Neom. The tournament will be held across 15 new stadiums out of which 11 will be totally new. While some of them are already built, eight stadiums are yet to be constructed. Out of these, three including the 92,000 seater King Salman International Stadium in Riyadh will not be completed until 2032, whereas others will be ready for use until the 2027 Asian Cup tournament.
