PSL Broadcasting Threatened Amid The Pahalgam Terror Attack – Here’s All You Need To Know

Here is the reason why the PSL's broadcasting is threatened amid the terror attack that happened in Pahalgam, Kashmir.

Yesterday, the National Security Council announced that all Indian nationals in Pakistan must leave the country within the next 48 hours. This statement has left the future of Pakistan Super League broadcasting threatened because all Indian crew members from PCB’s workforce might be removed due to rising border tensions following Pahelgam terrorism. Pakistani terrorists conducted the assassination of 26 Indian nationals who visited Pahalgam in Kashmir.

What The PCB Source Stated

A concerned PCB source said: “Since more than two dozen of the production and broadcast crew of the PSL, included Indian nationals. Steps are being taken to replace them. The broadcast and production crew includes engineers, production managers, cameramen, player-tracking experts (all Indian nationals), who ensure a smooth coverage of the PSL.”

What Made Them Take This Decision

The decision was made amid ongoing cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan following a terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, where 26 people were killed. The attack occurred in the Baisaran area of Anantnag district, as terrorists opened fire on a group of tourists in broad daylight on April 22.

Simran Chandani, a tourist from Nagpur, Maharashtra, expressed uncertainty about surviving the attack.

“We were preparing to leave after having tea and Maggi [a popular prepackaged, ready-to-eat noodle snack]” when the attack started, she said, describing Pahalgam as “mini-Switzerland”.

Then it all changed.  “I saw a rush of people coming down, we thought the balloon had burst, people were pushing each other, who told us an attack had happened,” she recalled, adding that mostly men were fired upon.
