The experts consider Punjab Kings’ Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya to be the most powerful opening pair at the 2025 Indian Premier League season, and they are correct. At Eden Gardens during the match between KKR and PBKS, the openers demonstrated their power very successfully on Saturday. Pundits have declared this pair and their combination as stormy and powerful at the same time. In the first six overs of the power-play, both players added 56 runs to their partnership. First time this season
During this season of the mega event both Punjab team openers finished the power-play unscathed for the very first time. Prabhsimran along with Priyansh completed their power play by scoring 27 runs from 23 balls and 31 runs from 19 balls respectively. In the previous 17 years KKR’s bowlers lost their wicket-taking ability during the opening six overs for the fourth occasion.
KKR Becomes the first team
The record of never delivering a wicket throughout the power-play became an unwanted first for Kolkata Knight Riders. The bowlers of Knight Riders failed to secure any wickets during the first six overs for the fourth time since the last 17 years in their league’s history. KKR demonstrates a current deficiency in their bowling lineup which prevents wicket takings during the first phase of play.
