The majority of the experts didn't pick Pakistan in their T20 World Cup 2024 semi-final predictions with India being the common pick

The 2024 T20 World Cup semi-finals are rapidly approaching. The Indian cricket team, led by Rohit Sharma, has already arrived in the USA, where they will kick off their campaign on June 5 with a match against Ireland. India’s group also includes Pakistan, USA, and Canada.

The real challenge for India is expected to begin in the Super Eight stage, where they are likely to qualify. From there, the top four teams will advance to the semi-finals. In the 2022 T20 World Cup, India was knocked out in the semi-finals by the eventual champions, England.

Experts Rule-Out Pakistan From T20 World Cup Final 4

Here are the semi-final picks from the cricket experts featuring Indian cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar and former Indian player Ambati Rayudu among others. The majority of the experts didn’t pick the Men in Green in their final 4 picks with the exception of Chris Morris, Mohd Kaif and S.Sreesanth.

Ambati Rayudu: India, England, New Zealand, South Africa

Brian Lara: India, England, West Indies, Afghanistan

Paul Colingwood:  England, West Indies, Australia, India

Sunil Gavaskar: India, Australia, England, West Indies

Chris Morris: India, South Africa, Pakistan, Australia

Matthew Hayden: Australia, India, England, South Africa

Aaron Finch: India, Australia, England, West Indies

Mohd Kaif: India, Pakistan, Australia, England

Tom Moody: Australia, India, South Africa, England

S. Sreesanth India, Pakistan, Australia, England

Former cricketers recently shared their predictions for the potential semi-finalists in the 2024 T20 World Cup. While all of them included India among the semi-finalists, Sunil Gavaskar notably did not select last edition’s runner-up, Pakistan, as one of his picks.

Former Australian skipper and Delhi Capitals head coach, Ricky Ponting, expressed optimism about Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant making a significant impact in the T20 World Cup, which will be held in the USA and the West Indies starting June 1.

Pant returned to competitive cricket after more than 14 months in the recently concluded IPL. He not only captained Delhi Capitals but also took on wicketkeeping duties, despite fitness concerns following multiple injuries from a severe car accident.
