The two nations must compete in a T20 tournament during the Asia Cup 2025, which is expected to occur in September. This tournament will probably experience intensified security measures.

The India versus Pakistan cricketing ties face postponement due to government opinion that presents an unfavorable condition for such matches at present, according to The Times of India reporting. Originally India had been selected to host the tournament until reports indicated it would take place at a neutral ground.
