India and Australia are playing against each other in the third Test of the five-match series at ‘The Gabba’ in Brisbane. The Indian team finished its first innings at 252/9 and avoided the follow-on in the reply of Australia’s score of 445 runs. The Aussies have pushed the Indian team on the back foot in the match as of now and has been on the driver’s seat. Top Indian batters Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal couldn’t leave any impact after which they got dismissed cheaply. On the other hand, KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja played fighting knocks of 84 and 77 runs respectively which has kept the Indian team in the match as of now.

While, the Indian team was nine down for 213 runs, they still needed 32 runs to avoid the follow-on. At this point, it looked like, the second innings batting is loading for the Indian team. However, the duo of Akash Deep and Jasprit Bumrah put up a stand of 39 runs off 54 balls which helped the Indian team avoid the follow-on.
