During the 16th match of the Indian Premier League, the Mumbai Indians faced the Lucknow Super Giants for the first time in the 2025 season. The Lucknow Super Giants had a pretty decent start with both openers scoring half centuries, but skipper Rishabh Pant failed to create an impact with the bat this time as well. Also, David Miller who came down batting at number six gave a hand with his cameo of 27 runs and with this, he achieved a milestone of completing 3000 runs in the IPL.

Good Start for LSG
Both the opening batters for the Lucknow Super Giants Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram scored half centuries for the team. Marsh scored quick 60 runs of just 31 balls when he was eventually dismissed by young Vignesh Puthur. Hardik Pandya through his clever bowling made Markram play a slower ball with which he fell short to score a hit and gave an easy catch to Raj Bawa on long off. David Miller was also sent back to the pavilion by Mumbai skipper Hardik Pandya on 27 runs. This was the 7th time in the IPL.
Miller’s IPL Journey
Since his IPL debut in 2012, David Miller has shown consistent performance in this tournament. Throughout 134 IPL matches, David Miller has scored 3010 runs with a 36+ average by hitting 13 fifty runs and a single hundred. The milestone of 3,000 runs fell to him at his 128th appearance.
The 2014 IPL campaign became successful for PBKS when Miller joined the team in 2012. Since joining the IPL he played for various teams including Rajasthan Royals (RR) followed by Gujarat Key Batter for PBKS and GT. The major highlight of Miller’s IPL profession consists of his historic accomplishment with one of the fastest centuries recorded during the IPL competition. In 2013 Miller scored an unbeaten 101 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru which he accomplished with 38 balls and hit the three-figure mark from his 37th delivery. Among IPL players Chris Gayle along with Yusuf Pathan have achieved century scores faster than Miller.
